NFC Readers and Writers
An NFC reader and writer is a device that can start the communication with an NFC tag. NFC readers are incorporated into mobile phones and tablets, attached to laptops and computers and built into payment terminals. NFC readers can both read and write NFC tags; the process of writing an NFC tag is called encoding. Readers can be connected to a computer via a USB or serial interface. USB NFC readers require a driver to operate; these are obtained from the reader manufacturer. NFC software can then use the NFC reader to interact with NFC tags. Readers come in different form factors and have other differentiating features (lights, buzzers …) to serve different usages.
